Hershey's was founded in 1929 in the rural countryside of Pennsylvania by Quincy Baird Hershey, Sr. The business grew and prospered over the years as the company followed the market trend and met customer needs.
In 1971, his son assumed responsibility for the family business. He envisioned new and exciting possibilities for the future, yet always maintained a strict adherence to his father's founding principles of integrity, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic.
Quincy Hershey, Jr.’s entrepreneurial spirit quickly transformed what was a small trading group into an international company with diverse areas of operation that range from manufacturing to agricultural development. Incorporated in 1989, Hershey’s International expanded its presence in the international marketplace and now supplies some of the world’s most exclusive brands in Italy, Germany, Latin America, India, China, Japan, and Korea.
