Deerskin leather is characterized by its very soft, rich feel. Deerskin has a natural
grain surface, and our special tanning process makes the leather tight with a high pebble.
In comparison to other leathers deerskin has a comparatively high tensile strength.
Primarily it is used for making garments, gloves, handbags, and shoes. We offer both grain
and split leather. The grain is the outer part (hair side) of the skin. Splits are formed
when skins are shaved to produce leather of a uniform thickness. Splits are also known as
suede, and come from the inner part of the skin. Deerskins average 7 to 11 square feet in size and .4 to 1.3
millimeters thick. The thickest split we offer is 1.0 to 1.1 millimeters thick. Prices
depend on the grade and the thickness. Orders of less than 2,000 square feet per color
have a surcharge. We can custom color any order to meet your specific needs. Orders of
less than 50,000 square feet can normally be filled within 3 to 4 weeks. Orders exceeding
50,000 square feet may require 4 to 5 weeks. A 20 container can hold about 8,000
deerskins (80,000 square feet). Call 1-717-528-4495
or e-mail for specific details on the leather that
will meet your requirements.
